Description Justin Lawrence 2009-03-11 15:29:57 UTC
Version:           0.70.0 (using KDE 4.2.1)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

i still think that we tend naturally to switch between the mouse and keyboard too often and that gets in the way, so i have some suggestions for high-speed interaction with contacts:

method 1: kopete chat to who?
===================================

- press some shortcut key (invokes "kopete chat to who?")
- start typing part of the person's name. once there is only 1 match, the conversation box pops up

it would also be nice if a combination of a modifier key and enter meant send this message and close immediately eg shift-enter

method 2: kopete recently chatted to..
=======================================

- assign a shortcut key to ("kopete recently chatted to") which pops up with a list of recently-chatted to people which you just navigate to using your arrow keys or numbers next to each name eg:

   kopete recently chatted to: _____
      1) bob
      2) jenny
      3) rob

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
