When logging in using KDE as desktop manager plasma crashes. I'm not sure if this is releated but when I last used KDE a 3d game crashed and caused the desktop to be resized to lower resolution. If my memory does not deceive I had a similar problem on my laptop when logging out of KDE while it was attached to a video projector which had lower resolution.
