The xorg-server-1.7.0 is out on gentoo, please support the mpx quickly. Thanks. (compliz seam support it, but kde windows management is better for my)
Comment 2 Martin Flöser 2009-10-03 19:16:06 UTC
nothing KWin can do about it -> reassigning to component KDE for checking by a more competent person if that has to be implemented in Qt or KDE.
Comment 3 BRULE Herman 2009-10-03 19:22:49 UTC
Are your sure? because for my the missing part is the windows manager work with mpx (like compliz berly), and the windows manager is kwin under kde4.

It's why I have thinks to kwin. Kwin need be too able to have multiple focused windows, and on keyboard linked to one mouse.

I've started hacking on this, but it's very early stages. I'm pretty short of time atm. If anyone's interested in this send me a message

Thomas Gillespie: I have you done patch? If yes where?

Re up because Qt is more recent and support mpx. Have you good news for us?

Is this still an issue in recent versions of Plasma 5, like 5.19 or later?

At this stage we should probably ask if we want an equivalent feature in Wayland or not. In my opinion MPX on X11 never left experimental state... I guess very few people find concept of multiple cursors usable and thus there aren't many contributors wiling to work on this.

It might make sense for certain apps, like in Kate, but as a general thing, I don't think so.
