Description Unknown 2009-03-09 19:32:54 UTC
Version:           0.12.7 (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

When I try to connect to my ICQ account, I get an error saying that the ICQ version of my client is too old and I have to upgrade. Things still worked about 10 hours ago (at 10 AM UTC+1), and now (7:30 PM UTC+1) I get that error. I already googled and searched this bug database but could not find a report.
It seems the same has already happened before and people were advised to change their kopeterc file. I did that and choose
Major=6
Minor=5
as version number (the URL which ICQ sends and I got via Wireshark links to ICQ client 6.5). But Kopete seems to ignore that, and when it quits, it overwrites the config file with the old values.
Is there any way to make Kopete properly connect with ICQ?

I am using Kubuntu 8.04 and the Kopete which is packaged in there (0.12.7, KDE 3.5.10). The same account works fine with ICQ2Go.
