Version: 0.8.1 (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1), Debian packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686 Hi everyone. I have a .pdf document in landscape orientation which is printed in portrait orientation if landscape orientation is chosen in the dialog box. For printing it, i must choose portrait orientation.
I can confirm this to reproduce * scan a landcape document - this will be usually(!!) available as pdf in protrait mode but printed buttom to top * must rotate 90° right - which also changes page to landscape * print produces landscape on protrait, cutting off some text BTW I do not think it's a programming error, but a usability issue. may be can be solved by adding a special rotate button, which rotates only the view, not the page
I'm a new KDE user and new to this BTS. I think I'm seeing this issue as well. I've as of yet not understood how to print a document in landscape. Also, I wonder if this bug is not a dupe of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181290.
I have very similar situation vice-versa. I have portrait-oriented PDF file and I try to send it by Okulat to network printer HP 9040 PS. Sometimes it prints as landscape, sometimes, the print job is sent to wrong Tray: there is a tray #1 for manual paper submission, but I want to send it to tray #3 with automatic paper submission. I have effects from all the bugs https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181290, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161759 and this
pls can you check/confirm that the document is generated correctly by a program and not scanned - using kpdf or acroread
> pls can you check/confirm that the document is generated correctly by a program and not scanned - using kpdf or acroread Yes, I confirm it. The first document I tried was genrated from apache Fop. The second was generated from the first by a pipe: apache Fop -> pdftops -> psbook -> psnut -> ps2pdf
I can confirm this bug still exists in 0.8.2 (KDE 4.2.2). I downloaded a pdf of the prize crossword from the guardian ( http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Guardian/documents/2009/04/09/cryptic24671.pdf ) The print dialogue shows Properties:Landscape but actually prints in portrait with half the document missing. If Properties:Portrait mode is selected in the print dialogue it does actually print in landscape. The document prints correctly in KPDF Printer is HP Laserjet 220 with duplex using the recommended postscript driver (HP_LaserJet_2200-ps.ppd).
