Description Marco Poletti 2009-03-08 15:03:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In systemsettings -> Advanced, opening the modules "Samba" and "Access control" makes the main window of systemsettings unresponsive (it doesn't refresh anymore). When you close the module's window, the main window becomes usable again.

Expected behaviour: The main window should still be usable while a module's window that requires root privileges is open.

Actually vanilla KDE doesn't detach the root-needing modules into separate kcmshells, this is a patched behavior introduced by the distros. You should file a bug with openSUSE for this bug.

Ok, I have filed a bug in SUSE.
