Version: inconnu (using 3.5.10, Debian Package 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-0lenny1 (lenny/sid)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686 My mails are at format maildir, but i had no choice of the location of the directory during the first login. I find them in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap/.1200326130.directory/.INBOX.directory that means inside 3 hidden directories ! This is insane :-) Why hide the datas and show only empty directories ? Mails and address book and more globally all user *data* should be in some *visible* directory in the $HOME, and only the _preferences_ in _hidden_ directories. I hope this to become a "best practice", or even freedesktop standard.
If you want to have them available in another directory, you could use symbolic links. This is changning slowly in kde4, as the directories for application data and application confiuration can now be different. (a freedesktop standard).
I think this wish is no more valid being the PIM management being completely rewritten on KDE 4.
