it is unnecessary, just take a look at the screenshots: how dolphin looks like and the mockup prepared by felipe. you can see in the mockup the different organization of tags and comments, they are more rational and beauty. what do you think, sebastian?
where would the tags and comment be shown?
this screenshot shows how looks dolphin when it is selected a file that is not already been tagged or commented. i think that once it is commented or tagged the infos can be displayed below the related icons and buttons. see also how has been changed the layout of the information panel on the top: frames and title have been deleted and buttons are beside the title of the folder. i'm not a native speaker, i hope you understood what i mean Marcello
Ok, here's a rough translation of the main points: * No frames and no fixed title for "Information" panel * Oxygen icons + buttons to add tags/comments, instead of text * Reworked order of info in the "Information" panel * Bottom filter similar to the one found in KFileWidget * Items in the main view arranged by Columns but scrolled by Rows Ypu should look at the second screenshot in that post for reference. Thanks Marcello and Felipe for the suggestions, but in general it's problematic to have 5 suggestions (see comment #5) in one bug report. It makes it nearly impossible to decide whether the bug can be closed or not: * The title arrangement in the Information Panel has been changed in 4.4 already and the title for the Information Panel cannot be replaced with the file name, as it does not work with long filenames. * Since 4.4 (and in 4.5) further improvements have been done for the Tags + Comments section. They are not handled in a special way anymore and there will also be a description label on the left. * The order of the information has been adjusted in 4.5. * The bottom filter bar is a different request. * Items in the main view arranged by columns but scrolled by rows is also a different request. Before starting now a long discussion for each point: It would really be helpful to split the points up into several bug reports. Thanks!
