Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages After the update from KDE 4.2.0 to KDE 4.2.1 plasma crashed (Signal 11) on startup. I attached the error report below, although it mentions that the backtrace couldn't be done correctly. I already deleted plasmarc and plasma-appletrc but that didn't improve anything. Via Alt+F2 on the blank screen which appears after the crash, I can start plasma and it runs without complications, but startup still doesnt' work. Ive the same problem. As Ive the same problem with KDE 4.1.3 and then updating to KDE 4.2 RC1 (if I remember well) I ask to lead KDE programmers: WHY EVERYTIME KDE UPDATES KDE CRASHES ? 3 CRASHES IN 3 UPDATES ! This is ANNOYING AND SHAMEFUL for a desktop that would promise so much! Jesus Im thinking in returning to simple-but-stable Gnome!
