Version: (using KDE 3.5.10) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Today when I opened my laptop in a campus library, the sound from the video I had been watching the previous night immediately resumed playing, even though the screen was locked. Closing the laptop did not stop it. The content of the video was such that this required a dash to the washroom to unlock the screen and stop the video. This would have caused no end of embarrasment had I been an employee in the company of a supervisor or client, or a parent in the company of my children. I feel the best solution would be not to allow sound to play except while it can be controlled.
