Description Hein van Rensburg 2009-03-03 09:23:19 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I run 2 versions of Kubuntu. 8.10 with kde 4.2 or Jaunty Alpha 5. They both use the same mail folders on my hard drive.

When Jaunty opens the folders, some of them are not imported correctly. It reads the subject and sender information, but says the date in unknown which destroys the sequence of the mails. This randomly happens with different inbox folders.

When I then import the mail and replace the folder form the same data it is correct. It also opens correctly in 8.10.

This is a random Jaunty read bug.

I don't think this is a conversion bug. I've been running KMail 1.11.0 for a while, (no importing) until out of the blue a few days ago one of my mail folders lost its date info.

Last night I found that if I click on these emails without dates, it gets fixed automatically and kmail puts them in the right place. Another clue!

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
