Description Scott 2009-03-03 02:49:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I would like an option in kmail to only download emails when my computer in use (e.g. when I close my laptop lid, no new emails will come in). This would be very helpful, as it means I can access new emails when away from home without my computer snatching them up immediately. A little check box in the preferences is all that's needed.

This option is already there, it is called "Work Offline" (in the File menu).

Another way to be able to read the same mail from several places is to use IMAP (or disconnected IMAP), or to configure kmail to keep the mail in the server (if you are using POP3).

I am aware of these options - I would rather that kmail sets its configuration to 'work offline' automatically.
