Description Unknown 2009-02-27 23:15:00 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-11-generic

In the Message window, after opening the search window using ctrl+f, if we press 'Esc', I get the below error message. I checked the 'Configure Shortcuts', but 'Esc' is assigned to only one operation 'Abort Current Operation' !

Error Message:

"The key sequence 'Esc' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts'
from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity.
No action will be triggered."

Thanks a lot...

It does not show the conflict for me using konctact (more shortcuts) in kde 4.2.65.

I just checked and the problem was still there.

But if I disable the "Abort Current Operation" shortcut and set it to Custom->None, I don't get the ambiguity error !!

So I think "Abort Current Operation" should not have any shortcuts assigned by default.

I can confirm this bug, the escape key shouldn't be assigned to anything by the application by default, since this prevents other things that the escape key is used for from working.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
