Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

hi,

when trying to attach files with colons in them (e.g. test:1.pdf), you'll only get nasty

URL cannot be listed
test:1.pdf

and

Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'test'.

error messages. file names with colons are entirely legal, though.

cheers,
nico

As a workaround, you can manually enclose the fileame between "test:1.pdf" before accepting in the file dialog and it will work.

Worst is that when you try to attach a new file, the last location is remembered as test:, and the error messages appears again.

Is this a kdelibs bug?

I was not able to replicate this bug with kmail 1.12.0 (KDE 4.3) and with trunk.

Nico, do you still have this problem with 4.3?
Comment 3 Nico Schlömer 2009-08-26 09:27:20 UTC
Confirmed, it works nicely in KDE 4.3. Marking as fixed.
