Description doc.evans 2009-02-27 04:34:57 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

This probably isn't very helpful, but it's all that the crash handler gave me.

What debug packages do I need to install so that the next time this happens I can provide a more useful report?

I was moving the digital clock plasmoid inside a panel when the crash occurred.

----

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

YOu need to install the "kdelibs5-dbg" and "kdebase-workspace-dbg" packages.
This is probably a duplicate of bug 185233 (look at it and check if the situation could be similar)
Thanks

1. OK; I'll install the packages as soon as the 64-bit Kubuntu backports repository has stabilised its KDE 4.2 code base (sometime in the next day or so, I'm told).

2. Yes; I think it's probably the same bug as 185233. I wasn't intentionally dragging to the desktop, but it's very plausible that I had dragged the plasmoid unintentionally out of the panel and on to the desktop.

FWIW, I already had those libraries installed. There haven't been any updates to them since I reported the bug.
