Version:           2.1.80 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-12-generic

when opening the molecular editor there is a problem of display that is cut off on top of the window ; I will attach a screenshot next

see my previous message.
Now regarding the content of the window showing the molecule selected still the same problem ; to see something I have to keep the mouse button pressed whne dragging the pointer inside the window ; I have to make another test without compiz.

That is definitely sounding like a compositing problem, so yes please retry without Compiz...

This certainly sounds like a compositing issue and I have seen similar artifacts myself.
