Description Ruchir Brahmbhatt 2009-02-26 11:27:49 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Steps to reproduce:
1. New mail in kmail.
2. Copy some cells from excel sheet having borders.
3. Paste the data in kmail new mail body.

Expected results:
Data should be pasted as is with formatting.

Actual results:
Borders are gone from cells and there is no way to set them manually.

Other information:
I've faced similar issue in Evolution mail client. But I can format the table there to add border manually.

These are my results with kmail 1.11.90 kde 4.2.65.
OpenOffice calc -> comoser (html), the borders are mantained.
gnumeric -> composer (html), no borders.
kspread b5 -> composer (html), no borders.

Borders are not maintained in case of openoffice calc in kmail 1.11.1 in kde 4.2.1.

Testing with KDE 4.3.1 works when pasting a selection of OpenOffice 3.1.1
Which means: kmail _can_ handle the borders _if_ they are given in the clipboard.
Obviously KDE3/kspread does not pass that information, as it's neither visible in kmail nor in OpenOffice on pasting.
