Description Pierre Maurier 2009-02-25 19:46:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

When a new tab is added to a conversation window (a new person is talking to you, or if you merge 2 conversation windows). The input box for messages are no longer able to manage advanced accentuation.

é à è still works because we can enter then with one key on the French keyboard, but ê â or ï are displayed like this when you try to enter them : ^e, ^a and ¨i.
In fact normally when you press the ^ or ¨ key, nothing is displayed until the other key (e, a, i, etc...) is pressed. But with this bug, when you press ^ or ¨, the accent is displayed alone.

Step to reproduce :
- Open a conversation.
- Try to enter ê, it works well.
- Attach an other conversation to this window.
- Try to enter ê, ^e is displayed (and send like this if you send the message).
- If you detach a tab, the problem is still here.

Workaround :
- Never merge 2 windows...
