Version: 0.10.0rc2 (using KDE 4.1.4) OS: Linux Installed from: Mandriva RPMs How to reproduce the bug : 1 - select the top level of an album 2 - filter by selecting one tag on the right panel 3 - double click on any selected image, the double clicked image becomes wider, the other images are put below 4 - unselect the tag used in step 2, display is updated 5 - select any tag that is not applied to the displayed image and wait ....... The console does not tell me more. Frederic
Does it really hang? Or do you just see nothing? I just tried it and everything was normal. Sure the image pane is empty, but if you click the red lamp in the status bar, all images are back again. If it really hangs, it is hard for us to debug if no error messages are displayed or no crash appears...
Andi Actually, you are right, I was not patient enough. After a quite long time, the application screen is active again and I can change the filter. Sorry about this Frederic
But if it really takes so long before you can interact with digiKam, something is wrong. If it is happening again: Do you hear a lot of harddisk activity? Do you use ext4? I have huge performance issues with digiKam / sqlite3 and ext4 with barriers (standard settings). Did the album you filtered contain a lot (>8000) images? You could also try to run digikam like this: kdeinit4 && digikam This way you will get all debugging output from the kioslaves as well.
Andi I have around 25000 images, more than half of then are in RAW. It takes around 7 minutes to have control back to the application. Shall I reopen the defect ? Regards Frédéric
