Description Ignat Semenov 2009-02-23 16:37:46 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.1
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Using KDE rev 930463 and qt4.5rc1 from qt-copy
After logging in, the splash fades out into a black screen with a cursor. KWin is working fine (e.g. I can toggle Cube or Desktop Grid with the mouse or a shortcut), and the cursor also works. In another virtual console, I run ps -u kde-devel and find out that there is no Plasma process running and no KRunner either (so I cannot hit Alt-F2 and launch plasma-desktop.) So I can only kill X (ctrl-alt-backspace).

I can confirm this bug.
If I press Alt-F2 and type 'plasma' in the program launch dialog, plasma starts.
