Description Tristan Miller 2009-02-23 15:12:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

There are several places in the System Settings where the user can specify power saving settings for the monitor. How do we know which ones to use? How does the user know which set of settings take precedence? Please limit the power savings settings to one place!

One place where the settings can be found is General->Display->Power Control, where we have:

[ ] Enable display power management

Standby after: x min
Suspend after: y min
Power off after: z min

Another place where the settings can be found is Advanced->Power Management->Edit Profiles->Screen, which has the exact same settings as above, plus Brightness.

The entry under General->Display->Power Control has been removed for KDE 4.4. :)
