Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2-3 OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Hallo, I have installed KDE 4.2 from debian experimental repositories. I didn't upgrade my system, nor install any package for a week and ctrl+f shortcut just stopped working in KDE yesterday. Doesn't matter what application (qt/gtk) I run, it doesn't work. Xbindkeys gives me this result when I press ctrl+f: "(Scheme function)" m:0x4 + c:37 Control + Control_L It completely ignores my F key used with control key (alt+f doesn't work as well). But on the other hand when I go to System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Standard Keyboard schortcut, I am able to assign this schortcut manually. I'm using compiz fusion instead of default kwin, but I tried to switch to kwin and it still does nothing.
Do you have any other desktop environment to test with ? (gnome, xfce, ?). If under another non-KDE environment the key combination doesn't work neither, this isn't a KDE problem. (it's currently affecting both Qt and GTK apps) Anyways, you can check if some application is globally catching that shortcut (SystemSettings->Input Actions) or (SystemSettings->Keyboard & Mouse->Global Shortcuts) Thanks
Ctrl+F works perfectly on enlightenment 16 in both qt and gtk applications. Xbindkeys now outputs this: "(Scheme function)" m:0x4 + c:41 Control + f
xbindkeys blocks my Ctrl (alt) + F shortcut. I use to start it automaticaly for my hardware volume button to work on my laptop. When I don't run xbindkeys, everything works fine. Thank you for you time, I'm closing this "bug" and finding solution for this issue somewhere else.
