Description Ben Boeckel 2009-02-22 12:50:27 UTC
Version: 0.70.0 (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

The contact list does not follow the system themes. The primary color is used, but the alternate color is not used.
Comment 1 Ben Boeckel 2009-02-22 13:01:07 UTC
Hmm. A restart of Kopete made the theme colors be used. I've seen similar behavior in KNode when I changed the theme. Maybe there's something lower level going wrong when theme changes?
Comment 2 Johannes Dewender 2009-03-15 14:42:57 UTC
I can confirm this on
Arch Linux
kdemod-kdenetwork-kopete 4.2.1
(no Fedora and nor rpm)
This does NOT occur with
kdemod-kdenetwork-kopete 3.5.10

How to reproduce:
Change the KDE color scheme in "systemsettings" to something very different. For example if you have the standard, use the very dark "Obsidian Coast" scheme and apply it.

Description of the issue:
Note how everything changes correctly, except the alternating list background colour. So every second entry in your content still has a white background, while your whole desktop uses very dark backgrounds. This is quite annoying because you keep testing different colours, because Kopete doesn't seem to fit.
If you restart Kopete after the color scheme change, everything is fine with the contact list colours.
Comment 3 Johannes Dewender 2009-03-15 14:56:44 UTC
Oh, might want to mention the "internal" Kopete version:
occurs in:
Kopete 0.70.0
occurs NOT in:
Kopete 0.12.7

I can confirm this on Debian Sid 2009 04 08, KDE 4.2.2, with Kopete Version 0.70.2. KDE's colour scheme seems to *partially* update Kopete, but a restart of Kopete makes the colour scheme actually take full effect.
Comment 5 Johannes Dewender 2010-08-04 11:58:23 UTC
Kopete
Version 1.0.0
Using KDE Development Platform 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4)-kdemod

I do not experience the problem anymore. I can change the alternative color in "systemsettings" between black and white and the change is applied to kopete rightaway.
