Description Steven Vollom 2009-02-22 11:08:35 UTC
Version: 2.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-11-generic

Other than the above, I played audio files with out problem. Then I installed Kaffeine player and it works fine, so I am pretty sure the problem is in Dragon Player. I have an Audigy 2 sound card I installed the Audigy 2 package offered in the Alsa packages. I am not very experienced, but I you want further, stevenvollom@sbcglobal.net. Steven

I am using Intrepid latest and I am 32 bit. I notice it says i686, isn't that 64bit? Prior to sound going out, Dragon played fine, both sound and picture, so I don't think I installed an incorrect package. It is possible though, I am still a Linux dummy. Good luck, and thanks for the wonderful work you do. I am very grateful to all of you and think you are under appreciated even if everyone is totally grateful and thankful for what you do. Your work is impossible to measure in benefits to people. Steven

i686 doesn't mean 64bit.

Is it just Dragon where the sound has stopped? There is a known (fixed) bug in 4.2.0 in which sound occasionally doesn't play when restoring an already played file. Delete ~/.kde/share/config/dragonplayerrc

I've discovered the same bug after my upgrade. Skype won't work for voice calls now, listening/watching Youtube or other online video/audio doesn't work. Both seem like the beggining of the sound file is over lapping with the middle?! BUT the sounds does seem to work with Amarok 'radio'

I would really like my Skype to work!

This is a phonon issue, not a dragonplayer's one.

Should post this bug on phonon.

Steven and ajpsynch, can you confirm if this issue is still valid?
