Version: (using KDE 4.1.3) Installed from: SuSE RPMs When I select files using the mouse, the mouse cursor is over the dir view (in detailled mode). While the mouse cursor is over the dir view, the status bar always shows the information for the item below the mouse cursor. This means it doesn't show the number of selected files. This is bad because I have no way to see how many/if any files at all are selected. When I then e.g. select one more file, and then chose "Copy", I don't know if there are additional files which will be copied somewhere else. Alex
I'd suggest to always show the number of selected files in the status bar. Alex
On current trunk, anyway, you need to be exactly over the folder/file name
Yes, but I had detailled view with large icons inside a relatively small dolphin, so this column took like 80% of the area of the dir view, so the mouse was basically always in this area. Alex
Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
It now works the way you want as of Dolphin 16.12.3 and 17.08.0. When the mouse is over an item, the status bar displays information about that item for a moment, then returns to showing "n Folders, n Items (n size)"
