Version: (using KDE 4.1.4) OS: Other Installed from: I Don't Know A Fatal Error Occurred. The applicatio KDE Daemon (kded4) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). Please help us improve the software you use by filing a report at http://bugs.kde.org. "Unable to create a valid backtrace. This backtrace appears to be of no use. This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creatio of proper backtraces or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash. What little I can see in the window is: [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0x7fa23eaa06f0 (LWP 24971)] 0x00007fa23e3dc5f0 in sleep () from /lib/libc.so.6
I am a newbie to Kubuntu. Had installed Ubuntu and installed Kubuntu over it. Was working fine for a while, but I noticed that a feature in Ubuntu, showing the status of my cordless mouse battery, was not showing anymore. I tried to add that feature with a program that sounded like it would do that, but although it made my desktop look more like it did under Ubuntu, I still did not have that feature. Since that time I have had more and more problems occur...probably doing stupid things unknowingly. Would really appreciate help in getting this resolved!
Are you experiencing this "kded4" crash everytime ? Thanks YOu can ask for help regardin (K)Ubuntu in their forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/
I have only received this crash notice once; when I sent in the bug report. The other problem I have is that it appears that for some reason the computer doesn't think I have "permission" to perform certain actions but I am suppose to be the administrator and have all permissions necessary. Don't know how to fix this either.
YOu can ask in #kde irc channel or in the (KDE or Ubuntu) Forums about that permissions problems.
