Version: 0.10.0-rc2 (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages When going through images I don't want to see anything but the image, and I sometimes want to zoom in to specific details. Many image viewers (e.g. GQview, IrfanView) offer such modes, but I would love to also have it in digiKam, so that I can make a slideshow of a selection of pictures (like only with three stars and more). I just tried digiKam 0.10.0-rc2 in "Ubuntu 9.04 alpha" on my amd64 notebook computer, and the GL slideshow (KIPI module) offers the functionality I'm looking after. Unfortunately OpenGL is not available on Linux on my PPC desktop computer, and I could not compile the KIPI plugins on Mac OS X (with MacPorts).
Different from 0.10rc2 it is now (in the 0.10 kde4 release) possible to disable the thumbnail list (as well as the menu bar) in quick view mode. So basically I've got what I want, even though the slideshow did not improve. That's why I now change this whish's status to "resolved".
