Description Y Glodt 2001-01-12 18:50:47 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: khtml
Version: 3.0 (KDE 2.1 Beta 1 >= 20001213)
Severity: grave
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux 2.2.16 i686 (SuSE)

Hi

waiting for X server to shut down kdeinit: Fatal IO error: client killed
KLauncher: Exiting on signal 1
KLauncher: Exiting on signal 15

this occurs at every shutdown after selecting shutdown you'll wait for ca 5-7 sec while nothing
happens. Only then KDE shuts down with this message in console.
This happens mainly when KDE was running a little time not just for a minute.
I had the same with 2.0 and with 2.01

Hmm

thank you
Yves

Well this has nothing to do with khtml.
I'm seeing this too and I think it comes from kmail which compacts folder=
s on shutdown.

It is also not related to KMail where it got assigned to. KMail indeed needs
some time to compact its folders on exit if you leave it running when
logging out but that is not a bug. You can disable compacting.
Logout is waiting until all applications are finished.
