Description Pablo Montepagano 2009-02-17 17:08:28 UTC
Version: 0.70.0 (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When I start a conversation sometimes (not always) I simply want to type an accented character, and instead of getting "á", for instance, I get "´a" (2 characters). This only happens in Kopete, and not in any other program. It is a strange behaviour, because if I simply close the conversation window and start again a conversation with the same person, tildes are back to normal. And sometimes they even work in one conversation tab but not in the other.

I have NO idea why this might be happening. It's a very strange bug.

More info: it only happens in the FIRST tab of chat (i.e., the one on the left).
When disabling tabbed conversations, the problem does not appear (at least not until now).

The workaround is to check "Always show tabs" in configure->behavior->chat
