Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs Knode basically offers the opportunity of formatting words in a plain-text-message as *bold*, /italic/ or _underline_ by using stars (*), slashes (/) or underline characters (_) around those words you will point out. However there seems to be a bug concerning this feature as the display will not show the formatting if the words - labeled this way - contain special characters (e.g. `,´) or german mutated vowels (e.g. ä,ö,ü). In this case the displayed message shows up all charakters without any additional format.
It seems Knode doesn't either bold sentences, only words, unlike Pan and Thunderbird which bold everything between asterisks. I don't know if this should be reported as a separated bug.
@AleX: I don't think it would be necessary to open a new bug regarding your further study in knodes erratic behaviour. Even if this (formatting whole sentences as bold etc.) may be an item for a wishlist - the first thing is to draw the attention of developers (and users/voters) to the bug in general. Therefore, I think, we should leave this all together in 'one place'.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
