Version: 0.12.7 (using 3.5.10, compiled sources) Compiler: Target: i386-undermydesk-freebsd OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 7.1-RELEASE When I try to add a jabber account the following error message occurs: cannot load jabber protocol plugin problem exists under FreeBSD only.
this is an install problem. Please verify that the jabber plugin for kopete is installed correctly (i.e. it's not a version from KDE 3 or something like that) and also be sure to 'kbuildsycoca4' and then restart kopete and see if the problem goes away.
But it has already been working for KDE3 under FreeBSD until a 'portsnap update' has destroyed it. FreeBSD still relies on KDE3 and I do not have a KDE4 installation under FreeBSD. Could you please restore the old state where jabber had been working?
ahh, sorry, i misread your version numbers. if a portsnap update caused the issue to appear, that makes me thing it's a problem localized to FreeBSD and that you should file a bug with them. In a KDE session, please run 'kbuildsycoca' from a terminal window and then close kopete (killall -9 kopete, if you have to) and restart it and see if that fixes the problem.
