Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package I am using Archlinux with KDEmod, and as the summary suggests, since my upgrade to 4.2, there is no more reboot or shutdown option in the K menu. (kickoff or regular style) Before upgrading, I backuped my .kde4/ directory, so I doubt this is a config issue. And in systemsettings, "all users" is selected for the shutdown availability option. Your help will be much appreciated. Olivier

using qdbusviewer, in "KSMServer/" -> "org.kde.KSMServerInterface" -> "Method: canShutdown" I get false. While I should get true, right ?
I found what was wrong. I had in my ksmserverrc offerShutdown=false I set it to true and I was set ! Why is the default supposed to be false ??
i have no idea how that happened. the default definitely *is* true.
