Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs While browsing some directory located on a remote server (via ftp or sftp) dolphin downloads files from that directory in order to show preview. Downloaded files are stored in TEMP directory with filename dolphin*. The problem is that the downloading is not terminated when dolphin window is closed or the directory is changed. It is quite problematic in situation when I open a directory containing 200mb video files and point one of them. Dolphin starts to download that 200mb in order to show the preview which won't be really shown wasting my internet connection.
Hm, this may also explain why the audio drivers become locked after a file is previewed-- dolphin never seems to CLOSE the file, drivers, etc after a preview. Did you actually click on the play button? See: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=193184
Could you perhaps reconfirm this issue with the latest stable KDE version? I can't confirm nor deny it since i don't have some ftp's to test this case on.
I can reproduce the reported problem using KDE SC 4.8 RC2.
