Description Tony White 2009-02-09 19:12:35 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

If I use the reboot command in a console, Any desktop plasmoids such as the clock plasmoid are not present on the desktop after rebooting.

kde 4.2

I guess the widgets that dissappeared where added on the same session you used "reboot" (which I guess it doesn't close Plasma properly and therefore the widget changes were lost)

Yep. kde 4 has never adhered correctly to the reboot or poweroff commands here,
Something in someway, always goes wrong.

I'm seeing kernel 2.6.29 + nv + reboot = xserver + kde crash, loads of undesired colours and not taking of the commands such as reboot or poweroff.
Just freezing.

I can't really debug that, I'd only be able to say, It doesn't work at all.
And that's just not helpful. Sorry.

Bug 190025 comment 8 can be related to this
Thanks
Comment 4 Jaime Torres 2009-12-29 19:47:14 UTC
Probably related to bug 187266
Comment 5 Nicolas L. 2010-06-07 01:05:49 UTC
Can you reproduce using KDE 4.4 or 4.5beta?
Comment 6 Jaime Torres 2010-06-08 22:33:14 UTC
It works for me in trunk svn revision 1134984 (>4.4.82). After a reboot (or even a kilall -9 -r plasma*), the new added plasmoids are there as before. (except the folder view, bug 187266).
If it does not works for you in KDE SC 4.5.0, please reopen.
