Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) Compiler: gcc 4.3.2 OS: Linux Installed from: Compiled From Sources When I try to assign special multimedia keys on my keyboard they are not always recognized by khotkeys. Sometimes the following error comes up: "The key you just pressed isn't supported by Qt." It works correctly with XF86Standby, XF86RaiseVolume and a few other XF86* events. However the "isn't supported by Qt" message pops up after pressing keys like: XF86VendorHome XF86ScreenSaver XF86TaskPane ... The keys are correctly identified by xev. They also worked fine in KDE 3.5.9.

This bug is NOT a duplicate of bug 142426. I am not talking about remapping any keys from old to new values. This bug is ONLY about XF86* events which are not recognized by khotkeys in KDE 4 any more. Have a look at /usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB to see all the available events. KDE4 only recognizes very few of these. I had almost every version of KDE3 installed and it worked great with KDE3.
