Version: 0.9.5 (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: MS Windows Installed from: MS Windows After clicking "remove installed packages", the installer will remove every KDE program. This is often not what the user wants, perhaps he just wants to remove Amarok because it crashes too much or the web-development module because he doesn't use it & it's just cluttering his computer. Design an interface similar to the installer list, allowing the user to select which of the installed programs he wants removed.
The installer already has that (although your wish is still valid I think)... You need to startup the installer, uncheck the 'skip settings pages' if you're asked about end-user vs. package manager choose package manager, go further until you see the package overview. On the left side you can select multiple categories, select 'KDE' - you'll see all your packages. If you want to uninstall one single package, click multiple times on an already checked checkmark (the flash signifies update if possible, the wastebin signifies delete). Go further & the package gets uninstalled for you.
Seems like the solution is no longer applicable. There's no more "KDE" category on installer's left side, only "Applications". However, already installed packages are not present there, so they cannot be selected. (Only new ones, can be installed).
> There's no more "KDE" category on installer's left side, only "Applications". This indicates that the installer is still running in the en user mode See entry "Package Manager" Install Mode page on http://www.winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/installer/manual/
