Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs A script API with which you would be able to add a rightclick menu to everything representing a song or file would be *very* handy. I mean to everywhere where there are files. Such "things" would be: playlist entries, the entries of podcast feeds, songs in your collection, songs in the magnatunes browser etc. The callback of such a menu should get some kind of handle to the rightclicked song (e.g. url as a string or the metadata of the element - which includes the url). Using such an API would be helpful to implement filemanagement features like the ones amarok 1.4 had.
PS: This should be *one* api to the menu to *all* the places. Something similar to konquerors/dolphins servicemenus comes to mind. There you define a servicemenu for a given mimetype pattern and konqueror/dolphin offers the menu everywhere the user can get a handle to such a file (e.g. also rightclick onto a webpage background, when the mimetype was text/html). Of course a mimetype would no be necessary here. Just a definition of a menu callback for any kind of file (also more than one file at once if more are selected) would be enough.

Hello, there. I would like to work on this bug, if possible, though it's not tagged as a JuniorJob. Is it possible? If so, is there any kind of mentorship or something? I already have some working code on this specific subject and would like to clarify some points.
Dirley: of course you are very welcome to help implementing this. Could you please come to #amarok on irc.freenode.net and post this to the mailinglist amarok-devel@kde.org?
