Description Alvaro Aguilera 2009-02-06 21:58:28 UTC
Version: 0.70.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) "release 88.4", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.7-9-default

When I'm in invisible mode (Jabber/Google-Talk) all contacts are shown as offline, even though many of them are online.
Comment 1 Billy 2009-02-22 10:12:52 UTC
I can confirm this bug on my Fedora 10 KDE 4.2.00 Kopete 0.70.0 .All contacts are offline eventhough they are online. So invisible mode is equivalent to being offline.
Comment 2 Pedro 2009-03-13 00:29:31 UTC
Some here.
KDE 4.2.1 and 4.2.65 on openSUSE 11.1.
Comment 3 Sergio PR 2009-03-19 23:12:54 UTC
Same here. KDE 4.2.1 (from KDEMod), Arch Linux

Actually, it works right if you change to invisible from away, online or busy, but you cannot connect to GTalk directly as invisible. At least that's what I'm suffering.
Comment 4 Matt Rogers 2009-03-29 05:50:45 UTC
So, in order to reproduce this, I have to sign on as invisible? Is that correct?
Comment 5 Sergio PR 2009-03-29 09:57:19 UTC
That's correct.
You sign on as invisible and you'll see no one online, then change your status to away or online and you'll see people online. If you change again your status to invisible, everything will work fine.
Comment 6 Matt Rogers 2009-03-29 20:38:40 UTC
I can't reproduce this with the KDE Jabber server, so it's something to do with Google's servers i guess.

*** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. ***
Comment 8 Sergio PR 2009-04-26 10:19:40 UTC
It seems that if you change your status to some-visible-status and then you try to go back to invisible mode, you're still visible!

Has anyone else suffered that too?
Comment 9 Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2009-04-26 13:58:16 UTC
I think I have (no contact to try it with by the moment).
Comment 10 Sergio PR 2009-05-24 22:33:25 UTC
This bug is still present in Kopete 0.70.85 (from KDE 4.3 beta 1).
Comment 11 Régis Décamps 2009-07-05 15:55:41 UTC
sounds like a duplicate of 177311
Comment 12 Sergio PR 2009-07-23 09:56:54 UTC
Régis, I think you're right. I'm voting that bug too.

Anyway, this bug is still present in Kopete 0.70.90 (from KDE 4.3 RC3).
Comment 13 Alvaro Aguilera 2009-11-24 13:04:14 UTC
The bug is still present in Kopete 0.80.2 (KDE 4.3.3).
Comment 14 Victor 2010-02-24 16:49:17 UTC
Still present on Kopete 1.0.0 (kde 4.4.0). This bug is present for more than one year now.
Comment 15 Sergio PR 2010-03-03 20:11:06 UTC
Still present in KDE 4.4.1
Comment 16 Sergio PR 2010-05-06 18:37:43 UTC
Still present in Kopete 1.0.0 and KDE 4.4.1
Comment 17 Malte Eggers 2010-06-21 21:44:31 UTC
still present in KDE 4.4.4 and kopete 1.0.0 - kind of. I noticed that kopete shows all my contacts as "account offline", so I can't chat to anyone. But I can receive message, so Kopete is not actually disconnected. It just seems like it. Maybe this is also partly server specific but also kopete needs fixing here.
Comment 18 Pali Rohár 2013-06-04 17:05:31 UTC
This is behaviour of google xmpp server not problem of Kopete. So closing as invalid.
