Description Xavier Brochard 2009-02-06 17:01:46 UTC
Version: 1.11.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.26-1-amd64

In kmail filter window, user can select actions like playing a sound or execute a command. The system notification in system settings let user define more things.
I would like to see filtering system using notifications system interface to setup actions. Like this:

- user select "define a notification" in drop-down criteria
- the notification setup window open
- it contain the filter defined as a new event (I suppose this is the difficult part!)
- user choose sound, pop-up message, log file, execute or task-bar event.

I like the idea of the speech synthetizer saying "You've got new mail".

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.

After playing with last kmail 2 version (from project neon), I've found that kmail2 has a more powerful notification system. Currently it let user choose a notification when log filtering is activated.
What I would like is to complete that with one possible notification per filter.

Note that in the current filter window, one can only choose to play a sound per filter. I think it make sense to let user choose any notification he want (using notification window).

Sometimes Akonadi has problems fetching an account/source. Currently there is a problem with ownCload calenders and contact fetching where Akonadi tries to fetch the top folder where all ownCloud sources are displayed in - which of course fails. This leads to constant notifications. I want to configure these notifications (disable the sound). The notifications seem to be assigned to the KDE workspace and display a normal warning sign. I have not found any option to configure these. The error is not relevant here, there's another bug report for that. But I'm kind of annoyed by these notifications and that I can not configure them.

But maybe I just searched in the wrong places. Hopefully you can help me with an hint or by fixing this.

Sorry. I misread the title and didn't notice this is only about filtering notifications. I'm really sure I clicked the correct link in my search.

My apologies -.-
