Description gambas 2009-02-06 15:39:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

When a Konsole window has the focus, the mouse wheel has no effect anymore in the desktop pager.

I was not able to reproduce this here. Possibly the same cause as your bug #183436?
Comment 2 gambas 2009-02-06 16:17:36 UTC
Here is a screenshot of my desktop: anywhere the cursor is (on the window border, on the panel...), the mouse wheel will scroll the konsole contents.

I had this bug on KDE 3.5.10 too.

Maybe it is a window management setting somewhere. Does this happen if you run a different window manager? eg. Install metacity and then run:

metacity --replace&

From a terminal.

By using xfwm (the XFCE window manager) instead of kwin, it changes nothing.
Comment 6 gambas 2009-12-05 18:43:43 UTC
The bug is there in KDE 4.3.2.
Comment 7 Kurt Hindenburg 2009-12-06 06:07:30 UTC
It works fine for me using Gentoo system.

Can you provide anything special with your setup?
Comment 8 gambas 2009-12-06 12:24:44 UTC
My system is a Mandriva 2010.0 installed from scratch, with a clean user account created from scratch too. I didn't configure anything special in KDE related to the mouse except the cursor theme and the mouse accelaration. Restoring them to the default value changes nothing.

I have one more information: if a Konsole terminal has the focus, then it catches all mouse wheel events (I see the terminal text scrolling), even if the mouse cursor is not in the Konsole window.
Comment 9 gambas 2009-12-06 13:06:05 UTC
I looked in the Mandriva 2010.0 source RPM of kdebase 4.3.2. None of their patches change anything in the konsole source code.
Comment 10 gambas 2009-12-06 13:44:53 UTC
Another information: an embedded konsole inside Dolphin does not catch wheel events outside of the terminal window.
Comment 11 gambas 2010-02-17 18:53:59 UTC
The bug is still there on KDE 4.4.0
Comment 12 gambas 2010-03-22 21:07:22 UTC
The bug is still there in KDE 4.4.1.
Comment 13 gambas 2010-07-10 16:55:46 UTC
Bug fixed in KDE 4.4.3.
