Description René Krell 2009-02-05 11:19:48 UTC
Version: 0.8 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) "release 88.2", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.7-9-default

It would be nice to have a quick search field to quickly locate applications by name in the menu structure, filtering nodes in the tree that match a search entry.
At the moment I must click through the graphical menu tree to find where a dedicated application might be.
Thanks

This is indeed very important, because the menu editor is the only way to set "command shortcuts" (i.e. global hotkeys to launch an application) in KDE4. The corresponding System Settings module does no longer exist in KDE4.

It's a pain having to manually search through the menu tree to find an application in order to set the shortcut.
