Description Xavier Brochard 2009-02-02 16:11:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

(please look at the little screenshot)

I have an ATI card, using fglrx 8.12.4 (latest driver from Debian sid).
I noticed the bug since my update to final KDE 4.2. Before, I was using Debian sid with KDE 4.2 beta packages.
I have activated desktop effects since KDE 4.1 and never see somethink like that.

When the mouse cursor cover the pull-down menu, the transparency effect disappear.

Hi and thanks

It's a known issue and one that will be solved in 4.3 or later when a new api is available from kwin.

Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2009-06-12 15:57:08 UTC
It isn't the menu which is transparent, but KWin rendering the window shadows over the menu.

There may be duplicate bug reports for kwin, adding KWin developers to CC.
Comment 4 Thomas Lübking 2009-06-12 16:09:10 UTC
i recently sent a patch to the kwin mailing list that (should, does for me) fixes (traditional) shadows on the ARGB deco confusion.

oxygen doesn't look broken as well.

maybe someone wants to test?
