As a heads up, if the product and component are not changed back to the original selection, those who are looking at this should know thatthis is an Oxygen issue that is only in Firefox, not Konqueror or KHTML.
Comment 4 Pino Toscano 2009-01-31 23:34:35 UTC
Ok...

does it happen if you change the KDE 4 style to eg Plastique?

I cannot reproduce this bug over here, are you sure you use KDE 4.2 oxygen? I'm using the opera/mozilla user agent string...
Comment 8 Heath Matlock 2009-02-02 12:07:45 UTC
Yes, I'm sure this is KDE 4.2 and that I am using the Oxygen theme.
Comment 9 359 2009-02-22 13:00:27 UTC
i have exactly the same problem and i'm experiencing it since i started using KDE 4 (this was with 4.1). with the gmail inbox it's just annoying but with gmail contacts it makes them practically useless.
Comment 10 Camilla Boemann 2009-02-22 13:06:27 UTC
It's a bug in firefox then. Well in combination with gmail.

They assume fixed sizes of some widgets, and they just aren't fixed sizes.
Comment 11 359 2009-02-22 14:53:05 UTC
but couldn't it get solved in oxygen? if the plastique style works fine, why couldn't also oxygen be made the same way?
Comment 12 359 2009-02-22 15:23:18 UTC
i also reported this bug here:

Comment 13 Christian E. 2009-07-16 18:36:16 UTC
This is not a bug of Firefox. I tried it with Arora (which uses the default oxygen theme). And it gets rendered the same way. The oxygen checkbox is just too big.

SVN commit 1033622 by cfeck:

Fix metrics for indicators in lists

BUG: 156522
CCBUG: 182633
BUG: 183622

Can anyone with an gmail account check if it also fixes the khtml issues?
If not, this would be either an khtml bug, or the gmail page enforces the
sizes of the columns.

I should note this is a problem with air as well... and I haven't tested the patch...
Comment 18 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2010-06-11 00:03:34 UTC
Can anyone with a gmail account check whether this bug is still there, with kde4.4 (or better: kde4.5) ?
in Arora ?
Or konqueror ?
Using khtml ?
Using Webkit ?

I'm asking because
1/ the checkbox sizes have been reduced for kde4.5
2/ there are at least 'some' pages for which it seems checkboxes are well displayed (see screenshot in next comment)

Thx.

Konqueror 4.5.0 Webkit rendering. KHTML works in plain html mode, haven't bothered tricking Gmail into thinking it's a supported browser...
Comment 21 Caleb Cushing 2010-08-27 02:08:59 UTC
whoops I meant to put in there it still has problems with konqueror 4.5 webkit rendering.

can't you just get a Gmail account for testing? they're free, do you need an invite?

My bug has been marked as a duplicate of this one. I don't know about Gmail, but the too big checkbox issue is still valid on other web pages in 4.8.3 and both kdewebkit and khtml. Compare the checkbox with firefox on the following page:
