Version: (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Resizing windows with contents is rather slow on my machine and makes the desktop feel unresponsive. In Ubuntu/Gnome the default resize effect when compiz is enabled is rather elegant: see the attached screenshot. However, when I set "don't show window contents" in KDE, I only get a plain black rectangle when resizing -- which actually doesn't get drawn correctly on my system (I'd file a bug about it, but it looks correct in screenshots). My suggestion is to implement the resizing with no contents the same way as it is done in compiz (or with some even slicker way if someone comes up with one). And it could be the default option in KDE, too, to make sure that the first impression of the desktop is snappy on all hardware.
