Description Javier G. 2009-01-28 19:09:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I was thinking about the UI that desktops should have to link activities to desktops when perVirtualDesktopViews is true and where should be placed that options.

Finally I remembered that "Multiple Desktops - KDE Control module" (right click on pager widget -> "Config desktops...") is a menu where people select the number of desktops. There is a lot of wasted space to only write a desktop name and that could be added a box to select activities.

I think that the default option should be a link of the current activity that is active in that moment.

Great mockup. This is the feature I want most in 4.3, as I think that neither plasma nor the desktop features will fully be able to complement each other until this is done.

I would love to see this feature in 4.3. That would rapidly improve the usage of virtual desktops and activities.

+1 from me :)

Currently you can set plasma to have different ativity for each desktop. But your mockup is very interesting... how about multiple monitors?

When you use twinview (for example) with 4 virtual desktop, each monitor has its own activity. In this case you should configure TWO activities for each virtual desktop.

huh. I never saw this report...
anyways, the way activities work in 4.5+ makes it irrelevant, I'm afraid. activities and virtual desktops are separate now. (although we still need someone to make it easy to get to a screen's widgets after it's unplugged...)
