Description Roeland Douma 2009-01-28 10:09:32 UTC
Version: 1.5 (using KDE 4.2.0)
Compiler: gcc version 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.1)

OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When starting kscd with an audio CD inserted it can play the disc (and all of its tracks) but it can't retrieve the tracks on the disc.

This is actually a libkcompactdisc error since I am writing my own application using libkcompactdisc and have the same errors.

I can retrieve my track list without problems with other programs (like cdplay).

libkcompactdisc can in fact find my cdrom and the "defaultdevice" and "defaultdeviceurl" are both correct.

It seems that libkcompactdisc also does not regonise a newly inserted disc since the signal is not emitted in my own program which should be emitted by libkcompactdisc.

But like I said kscd is able to play the disc. But again it is not able to read the track info.

I don't know if this is related, but I have a similar issue, but only, when CDDB fails to retrieve track names.
The playlist appears empty, despite you can reproduce it *only* sequentially, and you can't pause it.
This problem does not appear when the disc is recognized through CDDB.
If it's not the same issue, please tell me it, and I will open a new bug.
