Description kgw 2009-01-25 17:08:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

I recently received an email from France which contained vital information in a PDF-attachment. I first tried opening the PDF in okular by clicking on the attachment but this invariably failed. I then tried different other attachments in the same mail and they worked. It finally came down to the name chosen by the sender which contained a "é"-character. I had to save the PDF, then opening that worked perfectly.

How did you noticed that opening that file failed? There was an error message? If it was.... from what application? Okular or KMail?

This may be related to bug 161758

Thanks :)

Sorry to forget that bit of information: Okular was complaining in a message with the french character in the file name replaced by what it seems a unicode replacement of sorts...
