Dolphin isn't so good with .desktop files. It shows the .desktop file extension in the name, which is ugly and unnessecary. When Dolphin is set to the Preview file view mode, the source code of the .desktop files is showed. Please disable that. it is also being shown in the Information pane, and in the Preview section in the Properties dialog.
