Description Michael Ploujnikov 2009-01-23 23:59:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.4)
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.3.0 20080428 (Red Hat 4.3.0-8) x86_64 platform
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I have two items in the "My Fuzzy Searches" list. I want to delete at least one of them. When I right click on the search that I want to delete, I get the "My Fuzzy Searches" pop-up with a "delete" option. However, when I click on the "delete" option, the selected search isn't deleted. I don't see any messages additional messages
appear in the console when I click "delete.

Do you try to remove the "built in" searches like

- Current Fuzzy Image Search
- Current Fuzzy Sketch Search

? These can not be removed (they can when trying to rename other searches :-) as mentioned in your other report).
This report is nearly the same as bug 181720, I would assume it is the same problem.
I can not confirm this, so it is rather hard to guess what is going wrong.

Comment 2 Michael Ploujnikov 2009-01-24 22:46:26 UTC
Yes, I am trying to remove searches named: "Current Fuzzy Image Search" and/or "Current Fuzzy Sketch Search".

I understand that it might not make too much sense to delete these searches. What lead me to trying to delete a search was an attempt to delete the duplicate image search results. Some earlier version of digikam was showing wrong duplicate search results (no matter how many times I re-ran the search) and I was trying different things to get rid of those wrong results.

Maybe a better solution would be to not even give the option to delete (and rename in bug 181720) for these built-in searches.

SVN commit 916238 by mwiesweg:

- for the builtin searches, which can neither be renamed nor removed, show a
context menu
with disabled actions (this is clearer than showing no context menu at all)
- fix the slotTextSearchFilterChanged gone wild

BUG: 181720, 181698
