Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: Mandriva RPMs I am probably going to have to go back to using kgpg instead of kleopatra because kleopatra simply lacks one of the most useful capabilities of kgpg. While Kleopatra can easily encrypt files, kgpg has a simple built-in editor window/function into which you can enter plain text, encrypt it, and then copy/paste that encrypted text into the body of an email or any other text field/file/app. I can find nothing like this in kleopatra. It would be very useful for kleopatra to be able to duplicate this feature of kgpg. Kgpg also has the setting for "start minimized to system tray" rather than to always start up on the desktop and have to be manually minimized.
I already mentioned --daemon in your other bugreport, which makes Kleopatra come up headless. Regarding the editor, I think you can use any editor, then copy the text to clipboard, then use kleo sys tray->Encrypt/Sign Clipboard..., then paste into the editor again. Would that work for you?
